
Born as the oldest son of maki-e artist Geishu Yamazaki.
Apprenticed to Kaga-style maki-e master Shozo Nakamura.
Became independent and founded his own studio under the artist name Mushū.
Received awards from various exhibitions including Kenrokuen Grand Tea Party Public Exhibition, Ishikawa Traditional Crafts Exhibition, Ishikawa Contemporary Art Exhibition, Japan Traditional Art Crafts Exhibition, Japan Traditional Urushi Art Exhibition.
Withdrawn from the Japan Art Crafts Association (Nihon Kogeikai).
Took part in group show held in Vancouver and on Saltspring Island in Canada funded by the Japan Brand Fostering and Support Project organized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
Exhibited in the New Works of Netsuke at Seibu Department Store in Ikebukuro.
Exhibited in the Contemporary Netsuke Exhibition at Takashimaya Department Store in Nihonbashi.
Yamanaka Urushiware and Maki-e Exhibition and received numerous awards such as Ishikawa Mayor Award (6 times), Kaga City Mayor Award (5 times), Yamanaka Town Mayor Award, Yamanaka Permanent Collection, and Kaga City Permanent Collection.
Held first solo show in New York.

Collaboration with innovative watchmaker Peter Speak-Marin and exhibited at the Basel World.

Mushū is a member of the International Netsuke Carvers’ Association and is also a chief supervisor and artist for maki-e fountain pens for Pelikan. He also serves a chair of Hoshu-kai; a group of maki-e artists in Kaga.
